I bought this to replace my old solar cover reel since a tree fell on it and smashed it flat. This works as a solar cover reel but there are some important things to know:1. No hardware is included to attach a solar cover to it2. There are no holes drilled in the tube to attach the hardware toIf you are handy, like my husband, it is pretty simple to drill the holes where you need them; but, yeah... this is just a tube. I'm pretty sure it's actually meant to be used at the end of the season to roll the cover up and then hang it from your garage ceiling. It did come with 2 straps and a hook, I'm assuming to use to hang from the ceiling.Also, the box it was shipped in was very flimsy and it arrived damaged with the pole slightly dented. If this happens to you, I suggest you send it back. It took us about 2 hours to wiggle the inner pole out of the bigger pole. It was a giant pain...My pool is above ground and 24'.
