These gloves are unbelievable, and by unbelievable, I mean incredibly awesome. They have tons of padding and yet you can still grab onto handlebars. There is a padded section on the back that adds protection and cushions impact from branches or your buddy’s roost. The stitching on the palm is tough but flat (FLAT!!!) and so doesn’t interfere with grip or feeling (some heavy duty gloves have raised stitching causing grip problems or space between glove and bar) and does allow warmth from a heated bar (which you will only need on the coldest of days).I used these gloves in -16 degree (f) temps at the beginning of the ride, and by mid-day I had the grip warmers turned on lowest setting (+15 degree (f) temps). After lunch, the bar warmers were completely off, and the +15 degree temps seemed like nothing for a 60 mile, high speed run up into the U.P. Towards the end of the day, when your hands are tired from the throttle/brake/throttle/brake action of an all-day ride, you stop for gas and when you take your gloves off, you are surprised at how cold it is outside, as your hands have been warm all day (not usually the case for me).If you and your sled are heading to Northern Wisconsin, Minnesota or the U.P. in January (or perhaps the Ice Planet Hoth) when it’s butt-cold below zero with a wind chill of a million below, these are the gloves you need!
