In fact, if cab protection and safety are your primary concerns, then the SAFETY RACK is the solution you need. The SAFETY Rack has heavy-gauge 2” square steel frame with wire mesh constructed from 3/16” cold rolled steel that’s fully welded for added strength and rattle-free cab protection. The Safety Rack is tonneau cover compatible with select bed cover models and offers a greater capacity for hauling ladders and longer cargo, thanks to a higher profile that clears the top of the cab.

I put this on my new F150 since I haul firewood, etc. Fits fine and is certainly rugged. These are a bit pricey but you get great quality for your money. No broken rear windows and it works great for tying loads to.
